AMB C1 Kit Assembly Instructions (0.8.4)

8. Finishing Touches (0.8.4 C1 Kit Assembly)

🚦 Difficulty Medium

πŸ“ƒ Steps 13

⏲ Estimated Time 25 minutes

Step 1: Tools needed for this chapter

πŸŸͺ 2.5mm Allen Key

🟦 3mm Allen Key

Step 2: Coop mount parts gathering

Gather:

πŸŸͺ 12x M4 10mm screws

🟦 10x M4 T-slot nuts

🟩 1x Edge mount

🟨 1x Edge mount with homing block

  • The two corner blocks from the previous step.

    Β

Step 3: Back Left corner mount

  • Go to the corner of the bed frame with the circuit case.

    Β

πŸŸͺ Insert two of the T-slot nuts into the extrusion nearest the bed cables. One on each rail.

🟦 Insert two of the T-slot nuts into the extrusion on the other side of the corner. One on each rail.

  • Slide them towards the circuit case.

    Β

🟩 Take one of the corner blocks.

  • Notice one edge is longer than the other.

    Β

  • Orient it with the shorter edge facing the circuit case.

    Β

🟨 Use two of the M4 screws to attach the short edge of the block to the two nuts closest to the circuit case.

🟧 Align the two nuts on the other extrusion with the holes on the long side of the block.

πŸŸ₯ Use two more M4 screws to mount the long side of the block to the other two nuts.

Step 4: Front Left corner mount

πŸŸͺ Going to the next corner at the front of the bed.

🟦 Take four T-slot nuts and insert one into each rail on both sides of the corner.

🟩 Take the other corner block

  • Orient it so that the short side is pointing towards the circuit case.

    Β

🟨 Take two of the M4 screws

  • Screw the short side to the extrusion that the other block is attached to.

    Β

🟧 Align the other two nuts with the holes in the block.

πŸŸ₯ Take two more M4 screws and attach the long side of the block to the frame.

Step 5: Front Right Mount

πŸŸͺ Go to the front corner on the opposite side of the bed.

  • Insert two T-slot nuts into the bottom rail of the right side extrusion.

    Β

🟦 Take the edge bracket without the homing block.

  • Insert two M4 screws into the countersunk holes.

    Β

🟩 Align the two nuts with the M4 screws.

🟨 Attach the edge mount to the T-slot nuts with the screws.

Step 6: Back Right mount

πŸŸͺ Go to the remaining corner of the bed (the corner on the other side of the arm from the circuit case)

  • There are already two T-slot nuts here from section 1.

    Β

🟦 Take the edge mount with the homing block and insert the remaining two M4 screws into the countersunk holes.

  • Align the T-slot nuts with the screws in the block.

    Β

🟨 Thread the screws into the nuts to attach the mount.

🟧 The position of this block does matter. The Front face of the block (the one with the slot hole in it) should be approximately aligned with the edge of the bed.

  • Tighten the M4 screws with the 3mm Allen key.

    Β

Β

Step 7: Gathering circuit case cover parts

Gather:

πŸŸͺ 4x M3 10mm screws

🟦 4x M3 20mm screws

🟩 1x Duet cover panel

🟨 1x Side panel

🟧 1x Driver cover panel

Step 8: Circuit case side panel

πŸŸͺ Look at the inside of the circuit case.

  • Notice that on the vertical edges of the case (near the Wifi Antenna and Case Connectors) there are two trapezoidal protrusions into the case.

    Β

🟦 Take the Side panel

  • Notice that the side panel has two β€œhooks” extending from the back of it.

    Β

🟩 Hook the extensions off the side panel over the trapezoidal protrusions in the case.

Step 9: Circuit case Duet panel

πŸŸͺ Shift the bed print surface out of the way or remove it for this step.

🟦 Take the duet cover panel and the four 10mm screws.

  • Place the panel over the Duet board.

    Β

make sure the cables are out of the way and aren’t being pinched by the cover.

🟩 Attach the panel to the case with the four 10mm screws using a 2.5mm Allen key.

Β

Step 10: Circuit case driver panel

πŸŸͺ Take the Driver cover panel and the four 20mm screws.

🟦 Place the panel on the case covering the drivers.

🟩 Use the four 20mm screws to attach the panel to the case.

Make sure you aren’t pinching any cables.

πŸ—ˆThis panel may not be perfectly aligned with the holes, so don’t be afraid to flex the case a little to get the screws in place.

Step 11: Relay Cover

πŸŸͺ Gather the Relay cover

🟦 Flip it over to look at the inside.

  • Notice the interior grooves facing to the left in this image.

    Β

🟩 Place the relay cover over the relay and slide the grooves over the standoffs on the side of the case.

  • The cover should click into place.

    Β

Step 12: T-slot end covers

πŸŸͺ Gather 4x T-slot end covers.

🟦 Take two of the covers.

  • Push them onto the ends of the two exposed T-slot ends of the Z-carriage.

    Β

🟩 Take one cover.

  • Push it onto the exposed end of the proximal arm.

    Β

🟨 Take the remaining cover.

  • Push it onto the exposed end of the distal arm.

    Β

Step 13: Assembly Complete!

  • Congratulations! You have finished the assembly portion of the guide.

    Β

  • Take a break before moving on to the final section: Preflight checks.
